Parkwood Farms BBQ Fundraiser Gives Kids with Special Needs a Fighting Chance

Are you looking to do something different with your family this summer?  On Saturday, July 10, you have the opportunity to bring them to Parkwood Farms Therapy Center in Snellville, GA and learn about the different programs being offered.

The Parkwood Farms annual Summer Open House and BBQ Fundraiser is a great time to learn about the benefits of riding horses as a way to heal, talk with Executive Director Dr. Marilyn Peterson and volunteers, take a trail ride, and meet new friends.

Parkwood Farms is a multi-discipline therapy center offering non-traditional therapies both in a clinical setting and as therapeutic riding, as our signature therapy.  Programs provide therapies for children with special needs including autism, Downs’ Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, emotional problems and learning disabilities.

Horseback riding is offered both on the trail and in the ring from 10:00 – 11:30am.  During this time, kids can also enjoy face painting and carnival games.  The BBQ lunch runs from 11:30am – 2pm.

Tickets can be purchased the day of the event at Parkwood Farms on Saturday, July 10.  Parking is free.  The Center is located at 2519 Parkwood Road, Snellville.  For more information about Parkwood Farms Therapy Center call (678) 344-6821 or visit www.ParkwoodFarms.org.  If you are unable to attend and would like to help out the kids, online donations are accepted 24/7.  Parkwood Farms maintains 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
